Vintage Ploughing
Guidelines

 

1.         Tram-lines - plough at 90% across tramline if possible. 

2.         Avoid plots on side headlands. 

3.         Recommended size of plot 

Length 100 yards maximum, 60 yards minimum 

Width   16 yards. maximum, 12 yards minimum 

4.         Recommended width of headland: 

Trailing Ploughs - 15 yards;

Mounted Ploughs - 10 yards 

5.         Skimmers/tail pieces can be of a different make. 

6.         Weights can be used on tractors and ploughs. 

7.         Adjustable stayes on plough mouldboards are allowed. 

8.         Chains and lats are not allowed. 

9.         Quick entry or slotted top links allowed. 

10.       Hydraulic rams and hydraulic top links not allowed. 

11.       Extended wheel axles allowed. 

12.       Adjustable tailpieces not allowed. 

13.       Modified plough shares are allowed. 

14.       Drawbar with hydraulic movement not allowed. 

15.       4 wheel drive conversions not allowed tractors to be as manufactured. 

16.              A list of eligible tractors is available on request from the Ploughing Representative (Rob Lawrence).
